About
The Author
Matthew Colville is a video game designer and writer who lives in lovely Orange Country, California, with 4 cats and a dog. He spends his time writing and cycling and gaming. He is a gaming whore and will play virtually any game of any kind in any format. If it has little chits and takes an hour to set up and 6 hours to play, all the better.
He listens to too much Progressive Rock, watches too many movies, looks back fondly on the days when he thought he was going to be an Actor or a Singer or an Astrophysicist, and the time he spent studying Aristotle. He never thought he was going to be a philosopher, though. That’s ridiculous. He has an undue fondness for quirky games like Professor Layton, Elite Beat Agents, and Patapon. He has what he calls a resonant voice but other people inaccurately refer to as “loud.”
The Book
The working title is “Priest,” a fantasy novel about a man who’s led the typical Fantasy Hero life and the toll it took on him. It’s about an Order of Knights, and what happens when a broken man is sent to save a broken Order. It borrows some of its structure from Hard Boiled Detective Fiction, some from Epic Fantasy, and a little of something from a lot of other places. There’s a lot of dialog and the chapters are short!
And there’s a cat in it, but you shouldn’t hold that against me. Him! The author, I mean. He means. Shit.
The Webmaster
Geoff Chandler is my friend and webmaster. When I say “we” here I usually mean me and Geoff. He’s one of those people I describe as Omnicompetant in that I’ve never seen any task of any sort he can’t conquer quickly and with insight.
He has a bunch of other sites, and runs the biggest Drifing site on the web.
